Counselling has always been my Calling. Because I listened. The Story that brought me here.

I'm Krish Phua – a counsellor, therapist and educator with a passion for helping people. I don’t exactly know why, but since I was young, people seemed to gravitate towards me with their stories. My playmates, classmates, and friends would sit beside me, quietly or excitedly telling me about their troubles, secrets, and pains.

Perhaps they trusted me.
Perhaps they felt I wouldn’t judge them.
Perhaps they believed I would keep their secrets.
Perhaps they thought I could offer them some suggestions.
Or perhaps, it was simply because I listened.

As I grew older, this pattern continued. Friends would call me late at night, or write long emails, just to pour their hearts out. Many times, they would end the conversation with, “I feel relieved after talking with you.”

Even though I often felt I hadn’t done much to solve their concerns, their words stayed with me. With maturity, I realised I had a way of seeing connections in their stories. I could join the dots, trace the causes and effects, and share trajectories of possible outcomes – often in ways they found logical, reasonable, and comforting. Over time, this ability sharpened further. I found myself making assumptions, presumptions, and hypotheses that helped them see their situations differently.

Many friends began saying, “You should be a psychological counsellor.” At first, I brushed off their suggestion. I was pursuing a stable career in the private sector, but deep down, I felt it did not suit my personality traits or temperament.

Eventually, I chose a management job in a charitable organisation within the people sector. It brought me joy to help others indirectly and to enhance the community. But the thought of becoming a counsellor returned, again and again, each time growing louder.

This time, I listened. I pursued a Master’s in Social Science (Professional Counselling). It felt like a door had opened into my true self. Since then, I have never looked back. I realise now – this has always been my calling.

To listen.
To walk alongside others through their hidden pains.
To help them find light in their own way.

Light a Light.

This is Who I am & What I stand for...

  • Where I'm from

I'm originally from vibrant Singapore and now happily call beautiful Zurich my home. I enjoy hiking, cycling, music and the arts. Having lived far from my homeland for many years, I sometimes miss the tropical island of Singapore, where my family still lives. At the same time, I’ve come to embrace Switzerland as my second home - drawn to its balance, safety, and quiet beauty, which in some ways remind me of where I grew up.

  • What I do

I’m a psychological counsellor with over 10 years of experience, fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. I work with both local and international clients from all walks of life—supporting personal growth, mental and sexual wellbeing and more fulfilling relationships. In our sessions, I bring warmth, curiosity and a global perspective to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

“I have always believed in a second chance (or more) in life. Each of us should be given opportunities to recover, rebuild and restart.”

  • My Qualifications

I hold a Master’s in Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University (Australia), an MBA from RMIT, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of London. I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Counselling Psychology. I’m registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling, and hold various certifications including sex therapy and clinical supervision.

    Why Mind Insights?

I chose the name “Mind Insights” because of its meaning. It reflects the journey of self-discovery and understanding that we embark on together.

  • It's about seeing the hidden corners of your mind to illuminate understanding, growth, and healing. I would like my clients to gain new insights so they can better cope with life's ups and downs.

    About my Aspirations

My aspiration is to become a “mind healer”, guiding my clients to nurture and explore new “Mind Insights” to enhance their wellness, wholeness, and wiseness.

My ultimate aim is to equip clients to become their own counsellors, able to handle future challenges with confidence once our work together is complete.
